Newly appointed acting Commissioner of Police, Joeli Baleilevuka is ready to take up the challenge awaiting him.
In an interview today with the Ministry of Information, Mr Baleilevuka said he would take up the job vested upon him with integrity and looked forward to leading the Fiji Police Force well with a good example.
“I feel very confident, in the sense that I have been in the position as deputy commissioner for sometime now and after the appointment from his Excellency the President last week. I am very confident to take up the challenge.” he said.
The career policeman said he was ready for the appointment and would take it up with full responsibility.
He adds the Fiji Police is an arm of the Government responsible for the safe, security and sustainability of the nation and one of his highest priority at this time is to ensure that the Fiji Police performs as expected by the Government and the people of Fiji.
“As of when I took up the position what I’ve done is to suspend most of our activities meaning the present activities. This will enable me to sit and map out what is there to achieve and look at the mechanism of achieving those plans,” he said.
