New Tui Vuda paid a visit to Government

New Tui Vuda Ratu Eparama Kitione Tavaiqia and his delegation from the vanua o Vuda paid a visit to Government House yesterday.

After 25 nights since the burial of the late Tui Vuda Ratu Josefa Iloilovatu Uluivuda, the chiefly house hold and the Tokatoka Nakelo visited Government House.

This was to say ‘thank you’ to His Excellency the President, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau for allowing the late Tui Vuda and former President lay in the State room for a night before taken down to Viseisei.

This is Ratu Kitione ’s first trip to Suva as the new installed Tui Vuda. He had wanted to show much appreciation to the Government for the tremendous assistance offered during his brother’s funeral.

Ratu Kitione and the people of Vuda valued the kind heart Government bestowed to the vanua, which Vuda could not reciprocate.

The delegation presented tabua to express token of appreciation to the great deeds and honour for the late Tui Vuda.

The Vanua o Vuda today also presented a tabua to express its support for the Government and will always be behind the Government in all its endeavours.

Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama thanked the vanua of Vuda for coming back to Government and present its concern and heartfelt.

Tui Vuda also received a copy of the late Tui Vuda’s funeral documentary this afternoon, which was produced by the Ministry of Information.

The programme will be featured this coming Sunday afternoon on Mai TV. The documentary will run for an hour. The content will be the coverage from Suva Private Hospital to Burenivalu sautabu in Viseisei, Vuda.
