14/11/2010

The Vunimono High School students will be able to study under a good quality roof from the grant given by the Ministry of Multi-Ethnic Affairs.

The Director, Mr Sushil Sudhakar yesterday handed over a Local Purchase order (LPO) of $18795.21 to the school management for the repairing of the schools roof that is rusted and leaking.

The school principal, Mr Mahendra Pal said the school would benefit enormously from the grant given by the Ministry.

“Once we are able to repair the roof, the students will be able to study in a comfortable room. Sometimes when the environment for learning is not conducive, it does not inspire children to achieve success,” he said.

He added this project would also benefit the Vunimono community, which will create an impression of better education offered in Fiji.

“This is the first school people will see when they come out of Nausori airport. It will give an impression to people coming to Fiji an impression of the quality of education we have in Fiji. This project will greatly help us enhance the image of schools,” said Mr Pal.

Mr Sudhakar said the Government is assisting all schools in Fiji to ensure that students receive the best education facilities.

Currently, Vunimono High School has 1165 students from around Rewa, Naitasiri and Tailevu.

The Ministry has been assured by the school management that the project will be completed by the end of this year.
