His Excellency the President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau today received the Ambassador Extraordinary and plenipotentiary Designate of Hungary to the Commonwealth of Australia and Fiji Dr Attila Laszlo Gruber at Government House.
Ambassador Gruber was welcomed by the Head of State at Government House as he presented his letter of credence.
The non-resident ambassador graduated from the Faculty of Law and Political Science of Janus Pannonius University of Pecs in 1984.
Ambassador Gruber was elected Member of Parliament and was elected incumbent in the local elections in October in Siofok for the fourth time.
Since 1995 he has been the head of local development and environmental committee and has been the chairman of the Siofok constituency since autumn of 2003.
Ambassador Gruber was an observer of the European Parliament from 2002 to 2004 and was member of the Hungarian parliamentary delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
He will be based in Canberra.
