ONE WEEK HOLIDAY FOR WESTERN SCHOOLS

10/04/2012

Schools in the Western Division will continue with classes in the first week of the scheduled school holiday from 30 April to 04 May.

Ministry of Education permanent secretary Dr Brij Lal said that this arrangement is vital for catching up purposes by students who were affected by the recent floods.

“Coverage has really been delayed after the two floods and this option is taken to help students”, Dr Lal said.

“School principals and head teachers are instructed to devise programmes that best suit them to update their coverage when school resumes in the next school term”.

Official holiday for the Western division schools will begin on the 7th of May.

All schools in Fiji will resume on the 14th of May for the second school term.
