PM BAINIMARAMA CONGRATULATES INDIA FOR ADMINISTERING ONE BILLION COVID-19 VACCINE DOSES

Prime Minister Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama has congratulated the Republic of India for successfully administering one billion COVID-19 vaccine doses to its population this week.
 
In a congratulatory message to his Indian counterpart, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister Bainimarama said it is a timely global reminder of the centrality and importance of the health and wellbeing of the people of India in its national development agenda.
 
“I am in no doubt, Prime Minister, that such unprecedented achievement is a testament to your strong and exemplary leadership throughout the global crisis and I commend you for remaining steadfast in the face of great adversity,” PM Bainimarama said.
 
“As we continue to work to strengthen our bilateral ties, it presents the opportunity to renew with you my commitment to the common values and principles that guide the conduct of our relations.
 
“I am encouraged by our close cooperation and partnership in areas of our mutual interest, including the COVID-19 pandemic. Our partnership through the International Solar Alliance is also commendable as it will foster innovative opportunities in climate change and sustainable development.
 
“On behalf of my Government and the people of Fiji, I congratulate you on your astounding achievement and I look forward to engaging with you in Glasgow.”
