Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama opened the Macuata Provincial Council Meeting at Vunivutu Village, in Nadogo today (10/08/22).
Prime Minister Bainimarama highlighted that the Government has invested a total of $170 million in the Macuata Province from 2014, in its efforts to serve everyone equally in building Fijian communities.
He stressed the importance of building a more resilient and sustainable economy and communities that can withstand the worsening impacts of climate change while sustaining growth, livelihoods and development.
The Prime Minister also opened the Vunivutu Evacuation Centre which would benefit more than 360 people in 56 households.
Vunivutu Village head-woman, Ranadiniceva Raluna, said the construction of the evacuation centre has given community members a sense of security.
The Macuata Provincial Council meeting will conclude tomorrow.
