Solevu Catholic Primary School in Bua will now be able to cater for class eight students next year.
This was made possible through a visit by the Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama to Vanua Levu this week.
Commodore Bainimarama approved and granted the extension of an existing double storey structure for two new classrooms while touring the school premises
Elated head teacher Pascal Peckham said he was pleased with the Prime Minister's timely visit because the school was also gearing up for preparations towards the golden jubilee celebrations in two weeks time.
“I am grateful and very pleased with the assistance we have received today from the Prime Minister . This is quite an old school and the community here have limited financial means in developing the school," Mr Peckham said.
Earlier this year, Government had supplied 70 desks and chairs and two computers to the school and also approved the construction of a 150 metre sheltered footpath from the road to the school.
The Prime Minister also inspected the Nuns' convent and the Catholic priests residence, which are undergoing renovation works by the RFMF engineers.
The school has a total roll of 287 students.
