Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama told more than 600 military cadet students of St Thomas High School in Lautoka today that cadet training produces discipline, honesty, and responsibility.
“Leadership is founded on these very principles. Without honesty and transparency, Government’s flood recovery efforts would have been riddled with mismanagement and corruption”, Prime Minister Bainimarama told the students at their passing out parade today.
The head of government spoke on the importance and value of education and discipline for every student in the country.
“As you are aware, Governments strategies, direction and pathways have been clearly identified in the Peoples Charter for Change and Progress and the national Roadmap to 2014 and beyond”.
The Baton of Honor at today’s cadet training was awarded to the Parade Commander John Raoma who is also the School’s Headboy.
The head of government also encouraged all eligible students to register with the electronic voter registration process to ensure that they have an opportunity to vote in 2014.
“For those of you who are 16 or 17 the registration centres will remain open after August, so you will be able to register as soon as you turn 18”.
