PRIME MINISTER PAYS TRIBUTE TO SIR MOTI

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama paid tribute to Sir Moti Tikaram following his passing this week.

The former High court judge who passed away this week in Suva, was the first local to be appointed as a magistrate in 1959.

Paying tribute on Sir Moti's passing, the head of government today said that the nation would remember Sir Moti's contribution to the legal sector in the country.

"Sir Moti's death leaves behind a legacy of fulfilment to Fiji's legal history as well as witness to the developments in Fiji's legal sector", Prime Minister Bainimarama said.

"Despite retiring from the legal profession, Sir Moti always found time to contribute to various organisations including the Fiji Football Association and the Fiji Chess Federation".

"On behalf of government and the people of Fiji, I extend to his family our condolences".
