PROUD MOMENT FOR PARENTS WHEN CHILDREN BECOME AMBASSADORS - MINISTER AKBAR

11/07/2019

Whenever our children go to an international stage to represent our country, it’s a proud moment for other children, parents and teachers of the country.

This was highlighted by Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts Hon. Rosy Akbar at the farewell for students from Tamavua Primary School who will participate in the Bridge Kids Summer Camp Tour to Japan.

“This is not the first time children will be part of the Asian Pacific Children’s convention and we have sent about 180 children in the past,” she said.

“Come next year we will send other children to represent our country.”

Minister Akbar congratulated the four students from Tamavua Primary School and wished them well on their journey.

“Bring back the experience and knowledge that you gain in Japan with your other colleagues from other countries.”

“The Ministry strongly believes that children must be given all opportunities and this is one such opportunity where you will be travelling abroad and gaining a lot of overseas exposure as well.”

The Education Minister advised the students  to look after themselves, eat well and to enjoy the experience.

The Tamavua Primary School students  will depart for Japan on Saturday.
