PS EDUCATION VISITS KADAVU

Ministry of Education permanent secretary Dr Brij Lal last week visited schools in Kadavu.

Dr Lal visited the schools to discuss with teachers alternatives that will enhance and empower teaching and learning in the classroom.

Teachers were told to put in the desired commitment and dedication to produce the best possible result. Dr Lal also encouraged the students to commit themselves in their studies to attain the best that they can and reach the highest level of secondary education.

“The ministry is committed to developing Fiji into a knowledge based society by assisting students to reach the highest level of secondary education and attaining the highest level of achievement. The provision of free textbooks, free bus and boat fares and food vouchers are some of the initiatives implemented to accomplish the objective of the Ministry,” Dr Lal said.

“Three external examination has also been abolished to ensure that students do not drop out of school at an early age,” added Dr Lal.

The Minister and Permanent Secretary for Education have visited 110 secondary schools in the past six months of this year.
