PS complete training on leadership

Permanent Secretaries have completed Module 1 of Executive Leadership Development Programme organized by the Public Service Commission and conducted by the Training & Productivity Authority of Fiji (TPAF). 

Mr Josefa Serulagilagi, Chairman of the Public Service Commission said that the Permanent Secretaries have undergone 5 days of training, learning about various aspects of Leadership and how they can more effectively bring about the changes required through their roles for improvements in efficiency and service delivery. 

He said that the Training was also in line with Pillar 3 of the Peoples Charter for Change, Peace and Progress and the Roadmap on Democracy and Sustainable Economic Development.

Mr Serulagilagi said that Commission will delve deeper into Civil Service Reforms next year as also announced as part of initiative in the 2011 National Budget. 

As such, we are equipping the Permanent Secretaries with sufficient information and skills to be able to achieve better impact and results in Civil Service Reforms.

The remaining 3 Modules of the Executive Leadership Development Program will be conducted in 2011. 

The Deputy Secretaries and Heads of Departments will also be provided with such training.
