PUBLIC ADVISORY No. 1 – FLOOD WARNING

The Disaster Office is advising members of the public that a flood warning remains in force for Votualevu River and all the low lying areas downstream of Toko Station to Nadi Town.

The flood warning is also now in force for low lying areas along Mulomulo river to Nadi Town and all minor rivers, streams and low lying areas west of the line joining Rakiraki and Sigatoka.

Government is advising members of the public to exercise caution during this period of low pressure and to listen to radio updates. Parents and guardians must at all times monitor the whereabouts of their children.

FLOOD ALERT REMAINS IN FORCE FOR NADI RIVER AND ITS ADJACENT LOW LYING AREAS.

A FLOOD ALERT IS IN FORCE FOR THE LOW LYING AREAS FROM NAYAVU STATION DOWN THE WAINIBUKA RIVER.

Members of the public living within and close to the affected areas are requested to:-

• Secure all belongings and property

• Be aware of your nearest Evacuation Center

• Not attempt to cross flooded areas
