The Ministry of Labour, Industrial Relations and Employment is displaying its various services in a one week exhibition at the Government Information Referral Centre (GIRC) in Suva.
Minister for Labour Mr Jone Usamate said the Ministry is keen in assisting the members of the public on whatever queries they might have.
“This exhibition is for the members of the public. It is not always that all our services are offered under one roof therefore we are encouraging the public to capitalize on this opportunity and come and visit us with whatever labour related issues they have,” Mr Usamate said.
He said this exhibition will also allow the Ministry to gauge customer satisfaction and to further develop its services.
Mr Usamate said the Ministry is on the verge of completing all its labour reforms and has commenced work on attaining ISO Certification.
“Our respective services have completed reviewing their systems and process in line with the ISO Certification. Attaining ISO Certification means improvement in the Ministry’s products and service delivery, increase customer satisfaction and consequently increase productivity in all workplaces in a sustainable manner,” Mr Usamate said.
Meanwhile the Ministry this year for the 4th time in a row received the Achievement level Award in the Fiji 2012 Public Service Excellence Award.
The Minister said the government is adamant in achieving an effective and efficient public service as committed under the Peoples Charter for Change Peace and Progress (PCCPP).
The Ministry’s services exhibited throughout this week include Occupational Health and Safety, Workers Compensation, Employment Relations, Wages Regulations, Labour Reforms, Industrial Relations, National Employment Centre, Mediation & Tribunal Services, Workplace Productivity and Child labour issues.
The display will be open from 8am to 4pm from Monday to Thursday and will end on Friday at 4pm.
