Partnership is important because it contributes towards sustainable economic growth.
Ra provincial administrator, Mr Joji Satakala made these remarks during the official opening of the Ra Chamber of Commerce office.
Mr Satakala said partnership was the only way forward because it would assist developments and greatly encourage future ones.
“This initiative by the Ra Chamber of Commerce will give small business micro enterprise schemes in Ra province the much needed boost to strive for bigger opportunities that is in line with government initiatives,” he said.
“I look forward to working with you to ensure industries and businesses in Ra continue to flourish.”
The opening was attended by the president and vice-president of the Fiji Chamber of Commerce, members of the Nadi Chamber of Commerce and members of the Ra Chamber of Commerce with the Rakiraki Town Council interim administrator.
RTC acting secretary Mr Samressan Pillay said the increase in dialogue and open consultation between members was a positive direction for progress.
He reiterated the need for partnership and that the sky was the limit.
The Fiji Chamber of Commerce has assisted the Ra Chamber of Commerce library with a computer set, which was handed over during the opening ceremony.
The Fiji Chamber of Commerce vice-president Mr Humphrey Chang said Ra was the first district in Fiji to have a fully-fledged office for the chamber and this was a milestone achievement for the newest town in the nation.
