The Fiji Police Force initiated a three-day road show for this festive season in Nasinu this week.
The programme started Tuesday in Makoi, yesterday it was at the Vivrass Plaza and today it will be at the Valelevu shopping complex.
The objective is to create partnership and work together with the community.
The Officer in Charge of the Nasinu District, Superintendent Jope Ralulu said the road show would display all duties conducted at the Police Station.
“The public can lodge their complaints here and we will receive them. This is taking our services to the doorstep of the communities,” Superintendent Ralulu said.
“Even if they want to know the results of their complaints, which they lodged in the last few weeks, they can come.
“A team of officers have been moving around in factories, house to house and also for business visitations to create awareness. All these are part of this Road Show.”
Superintendent Ralulu said they received a big crowd in Makoi and they were grateful to the community for its support.
“Since our objective is to win the confidence of the communities through this show, to work together and keep this place peaceful, stable and safe,” he said.
“We’ll also be giving crime tips from here every now and then.
“The military officers, National Fire Authority officers, Prison officers and LTA officers will be invited to be part of this programme and see how best we can work together.
“Our theme is together we can make a difference.”
Meanwhile, a team from the Ministry of Health and Training Productivity Authority of Fiji is also part of this road show.
“In our initiative to conduct this road show we decided to rope in other stakeholders and I appreciate the positive response from Ministry of Health and TPAF,” Superintendent Ralulu said.
“A free medical check is done here by the Ministry of Health while TPAF is displaying their courses and programme,”
“Since it’s school holidays, students can come here and enquire about programmes and courses they want to do.”
“Today we’ll be together at the Valelevu shopping complex ,” Superintendent Ralulu added.
