A power failure that occurred at Waila a while ago has affected the operations of the Water Authority of Fiji’s facilities in the area.
The power failure has shutdown the Waimanu Pumping Station which pumps raw water to the Tamavua Water Treatment Plant, and the Waila Water Treatment Plant which supplies water to the Tovata Reservoir.
Water levels at the two reservoirs are diminishing and will result in low pressure and disruptive supply to the following areas from this afternoon until late tonight:
Makoi
Tuirara Sub-division
Cunningham
Namadi Heights
Tacirua east
New Town
Upper caubati
Valelevu
Nakasi

The power supply should be restored by this afternoon but it will take longer for our system to recover before it can start supplying water to our customers in the affected areas.
The inconvenience is regretted.
