Members of the public are again strongly advised to refrain from crossing flooded roads and rivers and to continue listening to the radio for further updates on the weather.

Members of the public are advised to take precautions of the tropical disturbance which lies to the north of Fiji and is slowly moving in a south-southeasterly direction.

According to the Disaster Management Committee (DISMAC), a trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain lies slow moving over the group bringing periods of rain over most places.

DISMAC this afternoon also said that members of the public are advised that flooding of low-lying areas is likely and that landslides may occur due to the heavy rain.

For those living in low-lying areas, you are advised to keep alert of flooding and to move to higher ground if flooding should occur.

Parents are advised to keep a close watch on their children.

A damaging heavy swell warning is now in force for all coastal low lying areas of Yasawa and Mananuca group, Western Viti Levu, Coral Coast, Eastern Viti Levu, Kadavu, Southern Lau and Lomaiviti group

Members of the public are advised that a high pressure system to the far southwest of Fiji is generating heavy southwest swells and is expected to affect the group from tonight.

The public especially those in the Yasawa and Mananuca group, Western Viti Levu, Coral Coast, Eastern Viti Levu, Kadavu, Southern Lau and Lomaiviti group are advised that damaging heavy swells can bring sea flooding of coastal low lying areas.

Parents are advised to keep a close watch on their children.

For mariners: A DAMAGING HEAVY SWELL WARNING IS NOW IN FORCE FOR YASAWA AND MAMANUCA, SOUTH WEST VITI LEVU AND SOUTHERN LAU WATERS, KADAVU PASSAGE AND SOUTHERN KORO SEA.

The general public are requested to monitor the current situation and keep listening to the radio for further developments on the weather.
