Rampur College this week commemorated the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in school.
The chief guest and speaker at the event was the Education Officer Health at the National Substance Abuse Advisory Council (NSAAC) Mrs.Talica Malani.
Students displayed charts and diagrams within the school vicinity to highlight the effects of drug abuse.
In delivering her speech, Mrs. Malani elaborated on the theme “Keep Me Safe from Abuse To Shine = The Best”.
“Today is an important day in the Ministry of Education calendar and it is also a very special day throughout the world. Your teachers must have told you that we are commemorating No Drugs Day and merging it with the Blue Ribbon Campaign and Campaign Against the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls because of the close link between drugs and substance abuse with child abuse and violence against girls and women,” remarked Mrs. Malani.
“We cannot deny the fact that drugs, alcohol and substance abuse is plaguing our children today,” commented Mrs.Malani.
Students of Rampur College were also presented on the effects of drug abuse by the National Substance Abuse Advisory Council team present at the school. The team is on a weeklong campaign against drug abuse and illicit trafficking.
