RATU INOKE VISITS INDONESIA POLICE CHIEF

The Minister for Defence and National Security Hon. Ratu Inoke Kubuabola recently paid a courtesy call to the Chief of the Indonesian National Police, General Tito Karnavian at the Police Headquarters in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Hon. Ratu Inoke is in Indonesia for the 7th Indo Defence Expo and congratulated General Karnavian for his assumption to the post lately.

He acknowledged Indonesia’s assistance towards the establishment of the Regional Police Academy including other assistance rendered.

He also noted that Fiji and Indonesia have enjoyed over 40 years of bilateral relations that were further strengthened by the Fiji-Indonesia Police Cooperation MOU signed in 2011.

Ratu Inoke also thanked the Indonesian National Police for the spirit of mutual cooperation and understanding and look forward to deepening Police relations through more technical training and exchanges.

General Karnavian also explained that the Indonesian Police is always happy to assist the Fiji Police Force, as it is part of their bilateral assistance package. The duo then discussed further areas of assistance under the Fiji – Indonesia Security Cooperation signed in 2011.

General Karnavian also assured Minister Kubuabola that more technical assistance will be rendered in the future that would meet Fiji’s policing needs.

Ratu Inoke concluded his visit by extending an invitation to General Karnavian to make an official visit to Fiji in the near future.
