REACH TEAM ARRIVES IN ROTUMA

The Ministry of Women, Children & Poverty Alleviation in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme is coordinating a 2 weeks REACH Programme in Rotuma from 29th August to 9th September 2022. The REACH program known as the “Rights, Empowerment and Cohesion” is a mobile-based service with the goal of making efficient and timely services a reality for rural and urban communities.

The REACH Programme promotes the Fijian Government’s vision of “Inclusive Socio-economic Development” ensuring that no Fijian is left behind and is funded by the Government of Japan.

Stakeholders that are part of the mobile services include Department of Social Welfare, Department of Women, Poverty Monitoring Unit, Spinal Injury Association, Empower Pacific, Fiji Revenue and Customs, Fiji National Provident Fund, Birth, Death & Marriage, University of the South Pacific, Fiji National University, ANZ Bank, BSP Bank, Ministry of Education, Heritage and Arts, Ministry of Housing and Community Development, Ministry of Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relation, Ministry of Lands and Mineral Resource, Biosecurity Authority Fiji, District Office Rotuma, Water Authority of Fiji, Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission, Department of Energy, Ministry of Health and Medical Services, Fiji Police Force and RFMF Engineers - all providing services for free.

During the two-week awareness, people will be able to access services like Registration of birth, Issue of birth certificate, Social Welfare services, counselling, medical check-ups, NEC registration, women empowerment program, child protection program, clean and safe water program, rural banking services, first home buyers, land survey program, mineral resources information, educational programs, TIN Letters, agriculture development program.
