The crowds flocking to central Suva for the Hibiscus Festival that begins tomorrow will also be able to register to vote for the 2014 election.
Three voter registration centres will operate between the hours of 10.00am and 10.00pm in the vicinity of Albert Park for the duration of the Festival.
The main centre is in the park itself next to the National Fire Authority booth, another is in the VIP section and the third is in the foyer of Government Buildings facing the park.
The permanent secretary in the Elections Office, Mohammed Saneem, said the Festival provided the perfect opportunity for Fijians to either register if they hadn’t already done so or to check their entries on the roll.
“We’re urging everyone over the age of 18 coming to central Suva for the Hibiscus Festival to come and see us and use this opportunity to make their vote count in 2014,” Mr Saneem said.
A valid ID is required such as a passport, birth certificate or driving licence.
