RFMF awards officers with service and leadership medals

The Republic of Fiji Military Forces acknowledged the hard work and diligence of 80 officers at a military parade held at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Nabua today.
Prime Minister Commodore Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama handed out the leadership and service medals to the 80 officers.
“We thank those who are awarded their medals this morning. We hope to give out all pending medals to those of you who deserve to receive your medals,” Commodore Bainimarama said.
Three categories of medals were awarded:
1.       Operational Leadership medal that was awarded to Lieutenant Colonel Jone Logavatu Kalouniwai.

2.      Meritorious Service Decoration Medal

·         Colonel Ifereimi Vasu

·         Major Manoa Gadai

·         Major Aisake Daulako

·         Major Sope Motufaga

·         Commander Manasa Vaniqi

3.      Meritorious Service Award – that was given to the rest of the 80 officers.

Several military officers also received promotions and they include:
·         Lieutenant Colonel John Fox

·         Lieutenant Colonel Litea Seruiratu

·         Lieutenant Colonel Amani Suliano

·         Lieutenant Colonel Semi Mocelutu

Six new military officers who were commissioned last week were part of the parade today.
 “Congratulations and I hope you will help the military to carry on the good works we‘ve been doing  in the last ten years since the year 2000. Be courageous and stay committed,” Commodore Bainimarama told the officers.
