RKS students return tomorrow

24/05/2010

All students of Ratu Kadavulevu School will return to school tomorrow, Tuesday 25 May, 2010 and not today as stated in a newspaper.

The decision follows recommendations by a combined inspection team of the Ministry of Education, Public Works and Ministry of Health officials, who inspected the school’s dining hall on Saturday to check on repair works.

Based on works carried out, which was nearing completion, it was then decided that students return to school on Tuesday to allow time for repair men to carry out final touches today.

Removal of unused boilers, plumbing works on boilers, replacement of fly-screens and broken louvre blades have all been completed.

Today, work on pavement, tiling, repair works on the ceiling and general painting works are expected to be completed.

Education Ministry officials will make another visit this afternoon to RKS to check on the final touches.

The roads around the school are also expected to be completed by this week.

The Education Ministry hopes that parents and students will make the necessary preparations for tomorrow’s trip back to school.

For RKS teachers, the Ministry is hopeful that classes will be organised in the appropriate manner to ensure lost teaching time is recovered.
