The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Cooperatives, Micro, SMEs and Communications, Hon. Manoa Kamikamica, in collaboration with Vuvale Outsourcing, Lowes Menswear, one of their biggest clients in Australia, and Suva-based business, officially handed over $1.5 million worth of brand-new children’s clothing to students of Ro Camaisala Memorial School in Nabukavesi this morning. DPM Kamikamica highlighted this as a remarkable donation and stressed that it is because of businesses like Vuvale Outsourcing that strengthen the economic ties between Fiji and Australia and more importantly, contribute to the well-being of the people.
“With businesses like Vuvale Outsourcing and the recent partnership of Google into Fiji, we are seeing a shift towards a more diversified economy. These investments and partnerships bring employment opportunities for our people, allowing us to tap into global industries while ensuring sustainable growth at home.”
DPM Kamikamica also said that the Coalition Government is fully committed to expanding the outsourcing sector, and it is working closely with industry leaders to create an enabling environment for companies to thrive, attracting more investors and businesses that see Fiji not only as a hub for talent and skills but as a nation of innovation and opportunity.
He said the ministry, in collaboration with government agencies, has taken a transformative step by digitising government services and introducing the “Starting a Business Sub-” System”— designed to streamline processes and alleviate these burdens.
“Other reforms and initiatives that are being carried out, such as the review of immigration processes and the development of the Fiji Trade Information Portal to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, with the aim of promoting industry development.”
The minister also noted the high rise of drugs and HIV/AIDS cases, parents, teachers, churches, community leaders, and law enforcement—to ensure that our youth are guided towards education, positive opportunities, and a brighter future.
“The government is actively collaborating with key stakeholders to address these social issues. Increased community outreach, education campaigns, and enforcement strategies will help curb the spread of illicit substances and promote healthier lifestyles among our youth."
DPM Kamikamica encouraged the children of Nabukavesi to work hard, dream big, and pursue their goals with passion and determination.
“Every great leader, entrepreneur, and professional started as a student with dreams and ambitions. With dedication, perseverance, and the support of your families and teachers, you can achieve anything you set your mind to.”
