Ra province reminded of unity

Members of the Ra province were reminded that for success to be achieved through developments, there is a need for better coordination and unity amongst all officials and people in the province.

“Our success depends in our ability to maximize our available resources and especially Governments development plans,” said the Deputy Secretary Itaukei Affairs Col Apakuki Kurusiga.

“To achieve better housing infrastructrures, electricity, water, better health services, better roads and many more – the iTaukei ministry will ensure that the all provincial offices will work closely with the office of the Provincial Administrator.

“This is to ensure that we achieve all of the above necessary development in any given province in Fiji,” Col Kurusiga said.

These new developments Col Kurusiga said has been implemented in several provincial offices in Fiji.

This is part of Government’s integrated approach towards development – that is the Roko(s) in the provincial office will work closely with the office of the Commissioner who will drive developments the country.

He also stressed the importance of dialogue and working together and communication.

“This will surely harness developments within the province – better co-ordination and communication,” he stressed.

“It is important for Turaga-ni-koros to submit timely and accurate reports for this will definitely be monitored and will help in development assessment.”

He reminded them that most of these reports reach the Poverty Eradication Unit at the Prime Minister’s Office.

He also reminded them that his ministry’s sole responsibility is to ensure that all itaukei are well catered for under Government’s developments.
