The town of Rakiraki in the Western Division is preparing for a major clean-up campaign.
Spearheading the drive is the Rakiraki Town Council, which will team up with Bank of the South Pacific (BSP).
Interim RTC special administrator, Mrs Seini Vunivutu-Raiko says the clean-up campaign will begin on Tuesday, 19 October 2010.
“This is the first major clean-up campaign for Rakiraki since its declaration as a town in July ,” she said.
“There are seven teams comprising of government officials, Fiji Sugar Corporation staff and interested members of the public.”
Mrs Vunivutu-Raiko said the programme would begin at 6am from the RTC office and would run for four hours with teams assigned to different areas.
