Real Estate Agents Licensing Board chair resigns

24/03/2010

Fiji Islands Trade and Investment Board (FTIB) Chief Executive Officer Ms Annie Rogers has resigned as chairperson of the Real Estate Agents Licensing Board (REALB).

Ms Rogers stated that after undertaking the role of Chair and becoming fully familiar with the operations and processes of the REALB, it has become obvious that there is a conflict of interest between her role as Chair REALB and that of her positions as CEO FTIB.

As a result she felt it best that in the interest of good governance and transparency, she relinquish the REALB Chairperson role.

Ms Rogers also stated that due to her position as Commissioner General, leading Fiji’s preparation for the six-month long Shanghai 2010 World Expo, this would require her being out of the country on a regular basis.

She feels her involvement at the Shanghai Expo would not leave sufficient time to do justice to the REALB Chair position.
