It’s about time that we come together and establish a regional police academy says Federated States of Micronesia Ambassador to Fiji, His Excellency, Samson Patrick.
The FSM Head of Delegate to the ‘Engaging with the Pacific’ meeting at the Intercontinental Golf and Spa Resort in Natadola, says, it’s a good idea of having a regional Police Academy.
“ I was of the knowledge that there was one but after learning that there is none I think that it’s about time that we have one in the region.
He said the Fiji Government’s idea of setting up a regional police academy is a good idea that should have be implemented some decades ago.
“ Like the commissioner of police of Fiji said, we need to eat together, live together, and work together, this will build up some kind of understanding between people and I think the lead role played by the Fiji Police and the Fiji government must be commended.
“ We need to make an effort to make a regional approach including all island countries.
“Whether it’s a Polynesian, Micronesian or Melanesian country, we need to work together because these issues affect us all,” he said.
