The Ministry of Education will take action against those teachers and members of the public who enter the classrooms on the basis of imparting knowledge without registration. This is in response to some people who are entering the classrooms to teach religious knowledge on part-time basis or conducting coaching clinics or any other classes.
Even Peace Corp volunteers and members of other voluntary schemes are bound by the Fiji Teachers Registration Board Promulgation. The head-teachers and school principals and school management are encouraged to see that such people are registered before they are allowed access to the children. Anyone found breaching the law will be prosecuted.
The Ministry of Education should be able to complete its registration process by the end of September.
