Requirement for Disclosure by existing licensees and spectrum users operating equipment using frequencies between 3GHz and 30GHz inclusive commonly referred to as Microwave Spectrum.
Under the Regulation of National Spectrum Decree 2009, any allocation or use of radio frequency spectrum whether or not such allocation or use was made under an existing licence was, from the commencement of this Decree converted to a temporary allocation or use pending a determination by the Minister.
By this Notice, the Minister for Communications calls on all users of spectrum between 3GHz and 30GHz to register their interest in obtaining permanent licences under the new spectrum management system being developed by the Department of Communications.
Users wishing to register their interest are required to respond in writing to:

They must include their name and contact details including postal address and phone number. The Ministry is happy to receive registrations from consultants as long as they identify the companies, individuals or organisations they are acting on behalf of.
Users will then be sent a form for disclosing the current usage of frequencies that they wish the Minister to consider for permanent licence allocation (“disclosure”).
This notice only applies to current users of spectrum between 3GHz and 30GHz. Other users of radio spectrum outside of this range need not register at this time.
All disclosures must be made no later than 4pm on 14 May 2010.
