Retired couple donate to Government

22/07/2010

The generosity and visionary of  a retired farming couple from Tailevu came to fruition last Friday in the opening of the new dental waiting room at the Nausori Health Centre which comes under the Rewa Medical Subdivision.

Mr and Mrs Phul Singh were given the honour in opening the new dental waiting room.

The idea of replacing the old and much smaller waiting room eventuated in 2009 when they approached Dr Mehar Angez the senior dental officer at the clinic telling her they needed to do something good to the community.

The couple generously donated $5,000 to steam roll the project while the Board of Visitors and staff managed to fundraise for $4000.

The construction was  done by Anil Pratap.

Quiet a few donors contributed to this extension in the form of items like as curtains, paints and decorations.

The Subdivional Medical Officer Rewa Dr Susana Nakalevu said the Ministry of Health is very appreciative to the generosity of Mr and Mrs Phul Singh because an average  of 80 people visit the clinic daily.

The new extension will cater for the people from the province of Tailevu , Rewa and Naitasiri who are served by the Nausori Health Centre.
