All school accounts will be audited at the end of the first term before payments are made for the second term this school year.
Government this year allocated $268 million with the aim of improving and making education easily accessible.
Minister for Education, National Heritage Culture and Arts and Library Services Filipe Bole said this is to done to monitor all funds and ensuring that funds are utilised properly.
“We will audit all school accounts towards the end of this term before we issue grants for the second term,” Minister Bole said.
“Its a decision we have taken seriously and if schools are not complying, we will cut the grants of schools,” Mr Bole said.
Mr Bole highlighted to ensure that grants are not terminated schools should ensure that they follow the guidelines set by the Public Service Commission.
With the school grants given by Government schools are expected to improve education facilities and ensure children are educated in conducive, friendly environment.
