The first school term for 2012 will start tomorrow, Tuesday, January 24.
This confirmation by the Ministry of Education follows advice by the Fiji National Disaster Management Office (DISMAC) that weather forecasts show an improvement, with the low pressure we face slowly moving away.
Schools are advised to liase closely with their District Officers for any immediate threat of the weather condition.
Education district officers have also been asked to closely monitor the situation and liase with Divisional Emergency Operation Centres in their respective area.
Officers are to use their discretion to make any decision, if a school is to be closed.
