SERVICE DELIVERY IS IMPORTANT – DR LUVENI

30/01/2014

The Minister for Social Welfare, Women and Poverty Alleviation Dr Jiko Luveni this morning launched the ministry’s 2014 Annual Corporate Plan with a special emphasis on improving service delivery.

Dr Luveni reminded senior managers present at the launch on the importance of their role in delivering services to the public.

“We address the social aspects of society, as it entails family, children, women, older persons and disabled persons issues,” Dr Luveni said.

“It is a service that basically addresses the humanitarian aspects of service expectations,” Dr Luveni said.

“The change in 2014, will seek to reflect a more structured and targeted approach in assisting rural women to attain empowerment status with specifically measured indicators,” Dr Luveni said.

The Ministry will strengthen its relations with umbrella women’s organisations to ensure that women around the country continue to have access to essential services, sustainable livelihood opportunities and equal justice.
