SIX WEEKS COUSRE TO EMPOWER YOUTHS

The Ministry of Youth and Sports is running a six week course for cabinet making in its training centre in Savusavu.

Naqere Training Centre in Savusavu has seen participants from around Vanua Levu enrolled in the course.

Participants at Naqere started last week were visited by the Ministry of Youth and Sports permanent secretary Mr Joseva Sania.

“I am glad to visit the site for the first time in my capacity as Permanent Secretary”, Mr Sania said

“The place needs development and we will see to this in the near future but we will address its immediate needs,” he stressed to participants.

Participants include school leavers who have been awaiting opportunities for tertiary studies.

Peceli Waqa, a former Form 6 student of Bua College said that he was glad to join the course to complement his skills for Carpentry and Joinery.

Waqa, from Wairiki in Bua looks forward to six weeks of learning new skills and is also glad to make new friends.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports will continue to run short courses in its training centres throughout the country to provide youths with skills and knowledge to assist them in earning a living.
