SRI SATHYA SAI SANJEEVANI CHILDREN'SB HOSPITAL CELEBRATES 3RD ANNIVERSARY

24/04/2025

The Coalition Government is committed to establishing Fiji's first dedicated cardiac training academy by 2026, creating a sustainable pipeline of local specialists.

This was highlighted by the Acting Prime Minister Hon. Viliame Gavoka at the 3rd Anniversary Celebrations of the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children's Hospital of Fiji in Nasese this evening.  (24.04.25)

Hon. Gavoka said the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children's Hospital has positioned Fiji as a regional leader in specialised paediatric care, where once families faced the heartbreaking choice between financial ruin and their child's survival, are now offered world-class treatment without financial barriers.

“The impact of these three years is measured not just in numbers, though they are impressive with 363 life-saving cardiac procedures performed and over 30,000 comprehensive screenings conducted.”

He added these statistics represent children who can now run and play without limitation and parents who no longer lie awake at night worrying, with families kept whole.

“The Fiji government recognises this as one of our most successful public-private partnerships.“

“It stands as proof of our shared belief that quality healthcare is not a privilege but a fundamental right for all citizens.”

The Acting PM also acknowledged the Tappoo family and the entire Sai Prema Foundation team for their extraordinary philanthropy that has built not just a hospital but a legacy for the nation.

Hon. Gavoka noted this anniversary celebrates more than past achievements but reaffirms our collective commitment to a future where no child's life is limited by treatable cardiac conditions.
