The Turaga Magazine, in its latest edition (2013 issue 73)- “Fiji’s Way Forward”- has printed the draft version of the Constitution of the Republic of Fiji and not the final version assented to by His Excellency our President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau on 6 September 2013.
Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said he has spoken with the publisher of the Turaga magazine, Mr Ishwar Narayan, who has agreed to immediately withdraw all copies of this issue and republish the same issue with the correct version of the Constitution.
“Members of the public cannot rely on this draft version. The official version of the Constitution in pocket size in the English, Hindi and iTaukei languages are readily available for free and soft copies of the Constitution in the three languages can also be accessed online from http://www.fiji.gov.fj/,” the Attorney-General said.
