STATEMENT FROM THE MINISTRY OF WOMEN, CHILDREN AND POVERTY ALLEVIATION

As the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, the Ministry for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation will continue to support our people, our clients and our employees to access information and services.
 
The Fijian Government has implemented measures ranging from physical distancing, restrictions on the freedom of movement and the closure of non-essential service undertakings in lockdown zones throughout different parts of Fiji.
 
Reducing face-to-face contact is an important action to mitigate the impact of COVID-19.
 
As part of this COVID-19 preventative measures, the Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation wish to inform all recipients of the Social Assistance Programs under the Department of Social Welfare to contact them via Phone, Facebook Message or Email rather than visiting the Social Welfare Office.
 
This also applies to the general public who wish to lodge inquiries or to report Domestic Violence and Child Abuse.
