“The move by the school is commended as it paves the way for change to take place for the progress of the school. Teachers and students are acknowledged for the commitment and dedication rendered in hosting such an event,” said the Minister for Education, Mr Filipe Bole.

The initial objective of the open day is to give parents and nearby community members a firsthand experience on the actual learning process and to bring about a sense of ownership to learning.

The students displayed their skills in different subjects under the banner of their respective departments. The open day was also an eye opener for the 200 plus villagers present. Also present at the open day were the officers from the Reserve Bank of Fiji, Fiji Development Bank, Fiji National Provident Fund and the Department of Energy providing assistance and information.

The parents and community members took full advantage of the event gaining as much as they can from the school and visiting officials.

The open day was also aimed at creating a good community bond amongst the school’s stakeholders for a collaborative effort in promoting quality education.
