A kind gesture from students of the Learning Centre shows that Fiji’s future leaders can play an active role in contributing to national causes.
Acting permanent secretary in the Prime Minister’s office, Filipe Alifereti, today received a donation of $900 that will go towards the Prime Minister’s Flood Relief Fund.
Mr Alifereti said the donation by students from the Suva school would be of great assistance to the victims of the two periods of flooding in the country.
Deputy head girl Melania Tora, 12, and head boy Dong Seop Lee, 14, delivered the money that was raised by the students who were requested to assist right after the floods.
“I wish to thank you on behalf of the Prime Minister for the efforts by your school to assist those affected by the floods and hope that you convey our gratitude to your school authorities,” Mr Alifereti said.
Ms Tora said, “we hope that this fund will be of some benefit to the victims of the flood and we are happy that we can assist ”.
