Today was a day of celebration for market vendors as they celebrated Fiji Day and Diwali.
Attorney-General and Minister of Economy, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum attended the event and stated that one of the wonderful things about being a Fijian is the opportunity to celebrate in so many different occasions.
Regardless of what religious events are celebrated around the country, Fijians are unique and celebrating these events in the market captures the cosmopolitan nature of the country.
Additionally, the A-G encouraged the Suva Market Vendors Association to be united, plan better, and communicate matters to the municipal council.
During the celebration, five vendors were recognised for their contribution to the market.
