His Excellency, President Ratu Wiliame Maivalili Katonivere, received the credentials of the Swedish Ambassador to Fiji, His Excellency, Bertil Henrik Cederin, at the State House this week.
Before the ceremony, Ambassador Cederin reviewed a 25-member parade consisting of personnel from the Republic of Fiji Military Forces.
With a career in Foreign Service spanning over 30 years, the Ambassador has served in Sweden's Embassy in South Korea as Second Secretary, in Japan as Head of Economic Section, and Zambia as Ambassador, prior to his current posting.
The career diplomat has also served under Sweden's Permanent Representative to the European Union in Brussels, Belgium where he was Head of Trade Promotions from 2006 to 2008.
From 2010 to 2015, Ambassador Cederin was posted to the Department for Asia and the Pacific Region, where he was Director and Deputy Head of Department.
Ambassador Cederin has been serving as the resident envoy to the Swedish Embassy in Australia.
