The copra town of Savusavu lost power at 11.30pm Sunday 14th March 2010.
This was confirmed to the National Disaster Management Office last night by emergency teams in the northern town.
Due to the weather conditions in the north, authorities have not been able to attend to the problem as yet.
“Our team can not attend to this tonight but will do so when the situation improves tomorrow night,” DISMAC officials said on Sunday 14th March 2010.
Meanwhile, DISMAC has also confirmed they have started receiving reports of damages and has reiterated to the public not to take any chances.
“Reports of damage are being received at this stage and people must start taking precautions now,” the situation report by DISMAC stated.
