The Ministry of Education is pursuing other means of educational assistance to make education more accessible to the children of Fiji.
The Minister for Education has advised senior staff to identify other means of assistance to be implemented in 2011. Already Government, through the Ministry of Education, is providing free tuition fees, transport assistance, and the textbook assistance scheme.
It has also taken the initiative to build schools in education disadvantaged areas to assist children, who have to travel long distances to access higher education.
