Singapore envoy makes courtesy call

The Singapore High Commissioner to Fiji, His Excellency Justice MPH Rubin is currently in the country to meet with senior Government officials.

His Excellency Rubin is based in Wellington and has visited Fiji on numerous occasions.

He met Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama this morning (July 5th) followed by meetings with Minister for Works, and Transport Mr Timoci Natuva and Minister for Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation Ratu Inoke Kubuabola.

HE Rubin will meet with other Government officials tomorrow and Wednesday and will leave Fiji on Thursday.

The visit is to strengthen diplomatic ties between the two countries and explore further collaborative partnership.


HE Rubin is a qualified lawyer with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree from the University of Singapore in 1966 and also attained a Post-graduate Certificate in Law from the University of Malaya in the same year.

He was called to the Singapore Bar in 1974.

Justice Rubin last served as High Commissioner of the Republic of Singapore to the Republic of South Africa from 2005 to 2009.

He was also concurrently accredited to the Republic of Botswana, Namibia and Zimbabwe and the Kingdom of Lesotho and Swaziland.

Justice Rubin is currently the High Commissioner of the Republic of Singapore to New Zealand.

He is also concurrently accredited to the Republic of the Fiji Islands.
