Students access scholarship information

21/05/2010

Members of the public, particularly Fijians students, were eager to know more about scholarship access at the three-day Public Service Week Exhibition held in Suva.

The Ministry of Indigenous Affairs consulted with students over the three days on how to lodge their application.

Mr Josaia Waqaivonovono, an officer from the the ministry said: “This scholarship caters mainly for Fijian students and the criteria that qualifies a student is a pass of 250 marks in the Fiji School Leaving Certificate or pass in Fiji Seventh Form and equivalent pass in foundation
studies of an average 3.0 Grade Point Average.”

Mr Waqaivonovono said members of the public were forthcoming with questions on
how to apply and the appropriate documents needed.

He said Fijian students
applying for scholarships should be registered in the Vola ni Kawabula or VKB; for Rotumans they should be registered from their  maternal lineage.
