Students of primary and secondary schools in Lautoka have pledged their support towards government’s initiative on climate change.
They also want to be more responsible when it comes to climate change issues and environment.
Their pledge was made to the Minister for Environment, Colonel Samuela Saumatua as he launched the Bio Diversity bus in the West this morning.
“Children are our future and they hold the key to continue protecting our environment,” he said.
“You are our future and you will be Fiji’s leaders of tomorrow. Please remember that a better tomorrow is only founded on wise choices of today.”
Students of Natabua High School and Drasa Primary School said they would start to seriously look at protecting their environment.
“We will try and do that extra bit from our part to help in protecting the environment,” said Avinesh Nand, a student of Drasa Primary.
“This is our environment and our teachers and parents will also be reminded to always use the three R’s which is reduce, reuse and recycle.”
