TAILEVU VSAT UPGRADE WORKS COMPLETED

Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources Jone Usamate has commended the upgrading works carried out at the Tailevu VSAT Seismic Station in Nasinu Village, Dawasamu.
 
Minister Usamate while visiting the site yesterday said that the upgrade will enable the Seismology Section to better monitor, analyse, verify, research, and provide accurate and timely earthquake information.
 
“It will ensure and improve public safety, environmental protection and the nation’s economic security is paramount,” Minister Usamate said.
 
On 31st of August, 2021, a team from the Seismology Section was deployed for the upgrading works on the Tailevu VSAT station.
 
The Tailevu VSAT Seismic Station was the first of the six seismic stations around Fiji to be upgraded.
